CHAMPAGNE / SPARKLING WINE

Also called bubbly or fizzy, sparkling wines has a fizz caused by carbon dioxide trapped in wine that is produced during fermentation. The carbon dioxide escapes as bubbles when the bottle is popped. Champagne is nothing but sparkling wine made in the region of Champagne in France. Some of the well-known varietals of sparkling wine are Champagne, Prosecco, Cava.

CHAMPAGNE

By law, sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France can be called Champagne. Typically, grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Muenier are blended to make champagne. The best-known champagne bottles are Moet and Chandon and Dom Perignon.

PROSECCO

Produced in Italy, and always made in sparkling or semi-sparkling styles, the wine exclusively uses Prosecco grapes. 

CAVA

Sparkling wine made by traditional methods from Spain is called Cava. Wines produced in Spain by other methods are labelled just as sparkling wine. The cava comes in white or rosé styles.
