The Glenfiddich IPA Experiment is first in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series. This experiment proved that traditional whisky casks can be enhanced in a pioneering way. The master blender, Brian Kinsman collaborated with a local Scottish brewer to create a bold IPA (Indian Pale Ale) beer with extra hoppy notes. These casks were then used in the maturation process to create the first single malt Scotch Whisky to be finished in craft IPA Casks.
Rich gold in colour, this single malt has excellent aromas of fresh pears, green apple, and spring blossom. These aromas are complemented by aromatic hoppy notes from the IPA casks and fresh herbs. On the palate, the whisky has zesty citrus notes followed by creamy vanilla and a dash of hops. The whisky has an enduring sweetness with an echo of green hops.
