The Glen Scotia 15 Years is an exceptional single malt scotch that delivers the true Campbeltown taste. The whisky is made from unpeated malt is is matured initially in first fill bourbon casks and then in re-fill Amercian Oak casks. This imparts hints of oak, and spicy aromatic fruity flavours such as apricot and orange blossom.
These casks compliments the slow fermentation and small batch process of Glen Scotia giving a balanced fruity character and sweet toffee flavours with hints of background spice that is unique to Glen Scotia. The whisky is then finished for a very short time in Oloroso casks that help the classic Campbeltown traits shine through.
The whisky has aromas of citrus peel, ginger biscuits, and banked fruits. Fruity flavours of apricots, fruit salad, caramelised sugar, and oak rush through the palate and ends with a warm spicy finish with honey smoothness.
